History
In 1493, for Columbus second travel to America he brought seeds of sugar cane to plant in Cuba. With an advantageous climate, fertile soil and knowledge from the locals, these canes could be cultivated and its juice ferment to rum.
The quality was drastically improved in 1800 with the introduction of copper stills and the first attempts at ageing. In the middle of the 1800's the production of superior rum began: a lighter, softer, drier and more delicat rum. Havana Club is the most famous rum in Cuba, and in the rest of the world, and they proudly conserve the Cuban tradition in its elaboration.

Elaboration
The molasses from the sugar cane is controlled and blended with yeast and pure water. It ferments for several days before destillation, ageing. blending and selection. The selected blend that will be the base for the rum is blended with fresh sugar cane distillate to create fresh rum.
